The turnout was incredible and there is a wonderful article published in the Seward City News. You can find the article here, SCF Grant Awards.

Representatives from each organization that received a grant were there to accept the awards and speak about the impact the grant will have on making the Seward and Moose Pass communities stronger.

Past advisory board members and current members introduced the organizations and gave the awards out. Jim Frederickson, a past advisory board member of SCF, was the Master of Ceremonies.

Especially touching were the volunteers, parents and kids that spoke about their favorite books and how the Imagination Library, with support from the Seward PTSA, helped them get new books to read, as well as Asian Napolean’s music. Asian sang and played guitar on a heartfelt original song with Helen Lindemuth singing backup. Helen wrote a grant proposal to SCF for support of the Independent Living Center’s TRAILS program, which helps disabled people in the Seward community participate in recreational activities.
