Marc Swanson
Seward Community Foundation welcomes its newest board member, long-time Seward resident Marc Swanson. Marc originally came to Alaska in 1980 to teach in a variety of villages around the state. During this time, he met his wife, Letty. Their path eventually led them to Seward in 1992 to teach at Seward Elementary School. Marc knew Seward was a special place, not only because of the area’s beauty but by how much support and appreciativeness, the community gave him for what was being done in the classroom.
Marc appreciated the concept of supporting the nonprofits doing good and innovative work within the community, which sparked his interest in joining the board of the Seward Community Foundation. “The SCF board is a great team of people,” said Marc. After being on the board for almost a year, Marc is most proud of being part of a million dollars granted. “In a regional area of only a few thousand people, that’s incredible!”
Welcome aboard, Marc!
