Business Matchmaker Raises $7,130 for Seward Community Foundation

September’s Business Matchmaker campaign is complete, and our community showed up in a big way.

Throughout September, Seward Heavy Industrial Power generously offered to match donations to the Seward Community Foundation Fund dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.

By the end of the month, 29 donors had contributed a total of $6,130 to support the Seward Community Foundation. With Seward Heavy Industrial Power’s $1,000 match, the campaign raised a total of $7,130 for our community.

We are incredibly grateful to every person who made a gift, and to Matt and Kim Bird and Seward Heavy Industrial Power for making this opportunity possible.

When we spoke with Matt at the beginning of the campaign, he shared why supporting the Seward Community Foundation was meaningful to their family.

“The Seward Community Foundation has supported so many programs that our family has benefited from over the years,” Matt said. “They pour into our community, building opportunities for all ages.”

The spirit of neighbors supporting neighbors is exactly what the Business Matchmaker program is about. Local businesses provide the match, community members join them with their own gifts, and together those contributions help SCF continue supporting nonprofits, programs, and projects throughout Seward and Moose Pass.

Matt summed it up simply:

“Showing up for others strengthens a community.”

This September, 29 donors and one generous local business did exactly that.

Thank you to Seward Heavy Industrial Power and to everyone who contributed to this year’s September Business Matchmaker. Together, you raised $7,130 for our community.
