SeaView Community Services was awarded a mini-grant of $616.35 to purchase CPR and First Aid Equipment in July 2019. Staff at SeaView are required to have CPR training. Recently their Human Resources Technician became a certified CPR trainer. For her to be able to teach CPR they needed to purchase the necessary training equipment.
According to SeaView Executive Director, Christine Sheehan, by having a CPR and First Aid Skills Instructor on staff, they plan to establish a more efficient orientation and training process for new staff, eliminate the need to send staff out of the community for CPR/First Aid training, reduce expenses and decrease the amount of time it takes for staff to work independently, and to maintain required recertifications.
Some of the equipment to be purchased was SCF-CPR Instructor Materials, BVM Masks, 2 CPR Manikins, Prestan AED Ultra Trainer, and a CPR Compression Wrist Monitor.
Funding for this grant came from the Seward Community Foundation Unrestricted Fund.
